
HOW TO OBTAIN MEDICAL LICENSE IN DUBAI
Dubai Health Authority (DHA) is the governing body established by law to overlook the health care sector in the Emirate of Dubai.
The Health Regulation Department (HRD) in DHA is responsible for licensing Healthcare Professionals with appropriate skills and qualifications to ensure the high quality of health care services and the safety of the population in the Emirate of Dubai.
The HRD considers every application for registration and licensing and assesses it against the profession’s related licensing requirements. The HRD team shall reply officially to the applications submitted via DHA electronic registration and licensing online system “Sheryan” up to 6 weeks from the date of first submission.

The above mentioned list is not conclusive and additional documents may be requested to justify the application for registration and licensure.
The HRD will carry out Primary Source Verification (PSV). Applicants who knowingly submit falsified documents will be liable for prosecution as per UAE Federal Law. This would also include termination of the licensure process and/or revocation of licensure if already issued by DHA.
Qualifications attestation by the UAE embassy and/or Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not required.
Following the process of primary source verification and successful assessment, professional’s employing facility shall submit an offer letter and evidence of malpractice insurance in order for the issuance of the professional license.

Recognized Specialty Certificates according to Countries:
Medical education and clinical practice vary considerably from one country to another reflecting access to educational and clinical resources, disease patterns and local health priorities. Licensing as a Specialist/Consultant requires a physician to complete a comprehensive program of advanced training.
Healthcare Workers Screening
All applicants must be medically fit to practice any healthcare profession in the Emirate of Dubai. As per DHA Healthcare Workers
Screening policy all applicants and licensed professionals should perform periodic screening (every three years) for HIV; hepatitis B and C; pulmonary tuberculosis; chickenpox and syphilis, the screening should be conducted in a DHA governmental authorized facility such as Medical Fitness Centers; therefore reports from unauthorized health facilities will not be accepted.
Healthcare Professionals sixty-five (65) years old or more
Healthcare professionals, who are sixty-five (65) years old or more at the time of license application and renewal, should provide a medical fitness certificate (on yearly basis) issued by DHA governmental facilities such as Medical Fitness Centers confirming their ability to practice the healthcare profession; hence the certificate should include physical and mental assessment annually.

HOW obtain medical license for the Dubai Health Care City
License granted by Harvard International
A separate license by Harvard International is issued for the Dubai Health Care City, a free Zone with the Government of Dubai as your sponsor. This license allows to set up a practice strictly within the DHCC free zone area. You can apply on line through the government websites.
